Two things are very certain. No human has any idea what is going to happen for the next four years. We can speculate all we want, but we really have no idea. So don’t do that.
The other thing that is certain is, Jesus is still the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. If you put your faith in Him, Jesus says that you won’t have to worry about all those things you think might happen.
When you come into a relationship with Jesus, Jesus takes you to be with Him, and you become His child (Romans 8:14-15 and John 1:11-12). God offers you the blessing of being a part of His family, not just part of His kingdom. When you become a part of someone’s family, you also then become a citizen of the country of your new family that took you in. We are no longer Americans who are Christians, but Christians who happen to live in America.
Jesus then gives us a job. Jesus says that we become His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20). You know what is great about an ambassador? They live in a foreign country, but the place where they live is considered part of their country. In Washington there are foreign consulates, and when you go to one of them, you are actually in that country even though you are still here in America.
Ambassadors are to respect the country they are living in, but they are not subject to that country’s decisions. As Christ's ambassadors, we do not have to be affected by what happens in this world. Praise the Lord!
Now, an ambassador can lose all of these privileges when they are not acting as an ambassador for their country and do things that bring shame to their country. If we want all that God has for us, we have to take our job as His ambassador very seriously.
I have lived on this earth for 52 years now. I can say that this is absolutely true, because there was a time when I did not live for Jesus like the ambassador I should. When I didn't live as His ambassador, the things that happened in this world had great effect on me. Since I have made the change to be a real ambassador for Jesus, I don’t worry about the economy, my safety, any pandemic, etc., because as His ambassador, He takes care of me.
I am not saying I am perfect, or that I have not been in some scary circumstances. What I can say though, is that since I decided to act as Jesus’ ambassador all things, every time has turned out for good for me like my favorite verse says in Romans 8:28.
So, no matter what you think of the election, know this, that as long as you are Jesus’ ambassador, you can relax and realize you will be fine, more than fine, because Jesus will take care of you always!
Remember Jesus loves you; I love you, and you are awesome!
